I always had friends that played Cookie Run. I did not, however, start playing myself until September 2021, when I downloaded Cookie Run: Kingdom amidst the Heart of Courage and Passion update when Hollyberry Cookie and Raspberry Cookie were first released, as I needed a distraction at the time. I picked up Cookie Run: Ovenbreak as well in June of 2022 during a CR:K and CR:OB cross-promotional event for the launch of CR:OB season seven.
Devsisters is too good to me; getting two new lady knight characters in one update cycle is nourishment for me. I'm so happy I have Cream Soda Cookie's costume already. I got in under ten pulls, which is pretty unusual for my super epic costume luck. I love her base design too, though. I love the dynamic between her and Cherry Cola Cookie a lot; they make it seem like Cherry Cola Cookie is menacing when she's actually sweet and awkward around her crush...
I'm actually so excited for the My Cookie feature; it looks so cute, but the fat baby that was launched out of the lab being THE PLAYER is an insane plot twist. But... since Butter Roll baked the dough, baby, any character anyone makes with My Cookie is his kid, right?
At least the CROB update looks amazing. Strawberry Stick Cookie and Mint Wafer Cookie are really cute, and I love Strawberry Stick Cookie's super epic costume so much. Rockstar Cookie too, and emo Pudding Cookie. I love that CROB always does the high-stakes lore update, and then whatever cute update afterwards is always funny.
Oh my god, the way I have HAD it with Cookie Run Kingdom. What the fuck is an Ancient+? Devsisters, when I get my hands on you... What I don't get is that. Why couldn't they have given Dark Cacao Cookie a crystal jam like the legendaries? The Korean players are going to send the trucks again.
I haven't felt strongly about these past two updates; the cutscenes are entertaining and do hold my attention, but I'm not an enormous fan of how the dragon storyline has been handled overall. I also didn't bother upgrading Pitaya Dragon Cookie or Ananas Dragon Cookie since I can't afford two legendary pets, magic candies, and the cookies themselves back to back. So there hasn't been much to do aside from maxing out Starch Noodle Cookie now. I do love the new costume for Pond Dino Cookie, though. It's the cutest, and I love that it's themed around the baby's first birthday. I did also get Dino Sour Cookie's new Super Epic costume; it's really cool.
I earned my first trial top 100 title, Lotus Dragon Master. I got it by accident too, even though I have tried in the past to make it to the top 100 on other trials on purpose. I just happened to finish upgrading Lotus Dragon's Cookie's epic rarity pet since it was buffed, and I finished Lotus Dragon Cookie's first trial's hard mode.
Marble Bread Cookie has really grown on me; he's cute, and I liked his story. It's not that I ever disliked him, though. What I actually wish is that he and Maple Taffy Cookie could both be made playable in this update, but I know that's not how this works. Fortunately, fans of the Time Balance Department cookies have great job security because these guys get an update once a year. So hopefully Maple Taffy Cookie and Dark Fondue Cookie will be made playable in TBD Event 2025. I also enjoyed the dynamic between Marble Bread Cookie and String Gummy Cookie. Between Marble Bread Cookie being too tired to question String Gummy Cookie's circumstances and when he teases String Gummy Cookie over how cute he was taking care of his plant.
Side note: I nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to pass through enough Grand Champion's League rounds to get enough GCL coins to buy Lemon Cookie's costume, but I did it, and the costume is awesome and I love it.
This event actually just really made me want Maple Taffy Cookie to be playable. Marble Bread Cookie is cool too. I just like Maple Taffy Cookie because he's funny. The event is really funny, like Schneeball Cookie immediately asking if she can just leave Maple Taffy Cookie trapped in the relic so she can have his job, and the "STOP, STOP" CG where she tries to break it with him still inside. I would also like to point out how funny it is that Schneeball Cookie learned absolutely nothing. I feel as though the main character of each update usually learns something from the story, but Schneeball Cookie intends to continue hitting things with hammers until something happens. My buddy, Haru, said that Maple Taffy Cookie and Schneeball Cookie are MLM/WLW hostility and I agree with that SO much.
It's so cute that Tangerine Tanghulu Cookie and Orange Cookie are sisters. I also like the collection system too, except for the fact that so many pages require pet costumes you can't even buy anymore...I'm also kind of getting tired of this event format, this is the fourth update in a row to use it. At least the bath bombs make it interesting. I went and bought Electric Eel Cookie'ss new years costume, I was expecting them to give it to Snakefruit Cookie, but he works too. Giving him dragon heritage is actually pretty cool and explains why he's so powerful. I was also able to pull Chili Pepper Cookie's new years costume that I didn't have. I only need Red Bean Cookie's now.
It would be more impressive if her Crystal Jam was fully upgraded but I got the last pull I needed to ten star Sea Fairy Cookie today. I do have her legendary costume too.
I'm actually more excited about Stardust Cookie, Milky Way Cookie, and Space Donut Cookie getting matching outfits more than anything else this update. I love them so much.
The more I think about it, I hope Pond Dino really does win COTY. Like it would be really funny if they had to give the Valentine's Day costume to the freaking baby.
They made Strawberry Cream Cookie so freaking cute, god. (Stollen Cookie is very cute too). I love that he just doesn't have a mouth. Makes his expressions really cute. I like that he and Stollen are a fox and a bunny...This story is actually so good, it's really sweet and I'm not even done unlocking all of it.
It's actually really crazy that they gave Golden Cheese Cookie the most tragic backstory between the ancients, aside from White Lily Cookie, of course. She really drew the short end of the stick in the Dark Flour War considering her entire kingdom was demolished and every cookie was killed unlike the three other kingdoms. Unlike other poeple, I didn't really have any strong feelings about Golden Cheese Cookie before her release, but I enjoy her a lot now. The fact that her actual greatest treasure was her friends is really sad. I'm still really upset that I could not get Aquamarine Cookie, though.
I want be mad at Devsisters for introducing another legendary cookie when Abyss Monarch Cookie only released two updates ago but Sugar Swan Cookie is too beautiful to be upset over. I also love Blue Slushy Cookie too, and the new costume for Sugar Glass Cookie. I'm happy that they're giving her attention.
I hate every time they do an event where they make you choose blindly and then show you what you missed out on by picking wrong, but doing it with cookies this time is completely unfair...Frilled Jellyfish Cookie is really cute, though. I like that they mixed a jellyfish and a maid, it's very clever and cute to me because I love both maids and jellyfish. I actually really like all of the Gem Mermaids because I love colorful underwater themes. As for the story, I think the actual part about this story is that, it's sort of similar to Abyss Monarch Cookie's story in that, Sea Fairy Cookie is there and she is unknowingly ruining other legenadry Cookie's lives with collateral damage related to her missing her wife. White Pearl Cookie's story is really sad, though. Knowing how it ends between her and Lord Oyster ahead of time makes it feel so much worse.
I love the new update. A lot of people are understandably upset over the implementation of two legendary magic candies at once, but I love it. Literally like. The first line of the story is such a win for Seamoon because if Sea Fairy Cookie is The Sea it means nobody can say "The Moon doesn't mean Moonlight Cookie!!!" anymore.
I am very pleased with how the newest CR:OB update has been playing out, and I am quite shocked by the generosity of the season 8 infinite chest event. I have pulled a ton of costumes I didn't have, including a handful of super epics and Timekeeper Cookie's legendary costume, alongside a number of legendary cookie and pet copies and Lotus Dragon Cookie's magic candy ingredient, which is quite a difficult item to come by. I am also very fond of Electric Eel Cookie, they have a very cool design and playing with them is fun, as I enjoy the high-speed cookies.
On the other hand, I am unusually disappointed by CR:K's newest update announcement. On one hand, I am very pleased to have Rockstar Cookie finally become playable, and his slight redesign looks very good on him. The Parfait Cookie costume that has been teased is fantastic, and I am looking forward to it. However, I am quite upset with how the game has chosen to implement Shining Glitter Cookie's introduction into CR:K. It is frustrating and, in my opinion, unnecessary to make her of the super epic rarity, which so far has been restricted to important and powerful figures and elementals, as a sort of pseudo-legendary class, to borrow a term from Pokemon. Shining Glitter Cookie does not fit in with the others, and I fear her change in rarity is rather greedy on the company's part. What upsets me more, though, is her redesign, as I frankly don't like how it looks. It's very generic to me, which is so disappointing as I thought her original design and its glam theme were just stunning. Putting her in a cutesy punk style, which has already been incorporated into other cookie designs, is redundant to me. I am excited for the rest of this update, but seeing one of my most wanted OvenBreak cookies receive this treatment is disheartening.
I actually managed to hit the instant hatch chance on Snapdragon Cookie! Even with that, I realize that unlocking them isn't as hard as people are making it out to be.
The hatred for Snapdragon Cookie is so forced, just like with Pond Dino Cookie. I think people really jumped the gun, freaking out when it was revealed Snapdragon was of Special rarity, thinking they would be available for a limited time only when they're actually part of a permanent event. Their Special rarity actually benefits players more than if they were Epic because it means they can be used in the Tower of Sweet Chaos levels that limit the use of Epic+ cookies.
This entry isn't about any thoughts on the games, but instead about this new shrine!

My wife? Kouign-Amann Cookie is literally perfect. She is a beautiful girly girl with a princess dress, tiara, ribbons, and pink heart eyes, but she also has an even larger sword than Dark Cacao Cookie of all characters. Even better, she is an absolute badass and both the kindest and most capable of the Triple Cone Cup contestants. The hall of mirrors scene where she carries both Prune Juice Cookie and Capsaicin Cookie is one of my favorites, and the dynamic between the three is precious to me. I actually really enjoyed her voice actress' performance as well; it's really impressive that this is her very first role in voice acting.
I am so obsessed with him that it's unreal. Red Velvet Cookie has been basically my number one favorite Cookie Run character for a long time now. He's an edgy long-haired man with a giant weapon, an even giant-er monster arm with huge claws, and a cool mask, with a soft spot for his many, many dogs, and for that he has checked a lot of my boxes. They also made him a part of a boy band that one time. That aside, the Tower of Sweet Chaos story is one of my favorites the franchise has come up with, and I really love the dynamic between Red Velvet Cookie and Pastry Cookie. My Cookie Run OTP...
Black Garlic Cookie was the first cookie I maxed out in Cookie Run: Ovenbreak, and for a long time, she was my "main". Aside from that, she has one of my favorite designs in the series, and I think she has a very cute background and personality. I really enjoyed the Spooky School Experience event and story, and I am a fan of the ship between Black Garlic Cookie and White Ghost Cookie. One of my favorite Black Garlic Cookie headcanons is that she is the daughter of Parfait Cookie and Licorice Cookie since I am a big fan of that ship.
I love Parfait Cookie because she has a perfect design, she has all of my favorite colors, mismatched socks, sprinkles, a cat-smile, everything I'm always looking for, and her costumes are cute too; she even has one with a bunny ribbon. I love her for her personality too—sweet and shy but energetic, with fun catchphrases. I said I'm a big fan of Licorice Cookie and Parfait Cookie, and it's because it's unlikely and silly. I really like the headcanon that they meet because, with the existence of BAD4, they are both singers.
Sea Fairy Cookie is my favorite legendary cookie and the first one I completely maxed out in both Cookie Run: Ovenbreak and Cookie Run: Kingdom. I love pretty oceanic and water themed characters and Sea Fairy's story is really sad and sweet. I really adore the relationship between her and Moonlight Cookie. I only wish that Devsisters would stop snubbing her every time she is supposed to be buffed...
Her
It's hard to believe Raspberry Cookie's boss fight used to be such a point of contention. That is not why I love her, though. I love her because she's beautiful, and I adore the elegant lady-knight trope. I think someone at Devsisters really likes the Rose of Versailles because this isn't the first time they have made a character referencing it. The Crunchy Dreams event, where Raspberry Cookie tries for Princess Cookie's hand in marriage, had me giggling. I love my canon lesbian cookies. It also made me happy that she was included in the Romance Kingdom April Fools dating sim. "Rachel" had an enjoyable route.
Blue Lily Cookie I will defend you from the haters with my life; they just don't understand you like I do. Blue Lily Cookie has such a lovely design and interesting personality that so many people seem to misunderstand it. It is stated that she protects the Grass Village simply because it is home to her favorite cookie, Lilybell Cookie. CR fans have criticized her for distrusting Gingerbrave and friends, but I think it is special how far Blue Lily Cookie will go to protect Lilybell Cookie. The heavily and constantly implied sapphic nature of the two's relationship is very precious to me. Not to mention how long Blue Lily Cookie carried me in trophy race. I love her for that.
Milky Way Cookie is one of the cutest characters the Cookie Run series has come up with. Sparkly eyes, cute voice, twintails, oversized sleeves, and bears somewhat of a resemblance to Cinnamoroll. She also really reminds me of one of my friends. What I actually really like about her, though, is that she's an extremely funny character who is, like, ambiguously bad at her job. Stardust Cookie's Travels is honestly one of the best and funniest stories so far, and Milky Way Cookie's friendship with Stardust Cookie and Space Doughnut is heartwarming.
Stardust Cookie is my favorite Super Epic Cookie. His design is awesome, the stars and glitter are so pretty and I thought it was really cool to give Moonlight Cookie an angsty brother. Like I said in Milky Way Cookie's entry, Stardust Cookie's Travels is one of my favorite stories in the series. Because of how sweet and silly it is, Stardust Cookie's not understanding how to eat chips comes to mind. I also really love the part where he transforms into Fiery Star's Wrath again to protect the train, because his boss form is SO cool, and it's really sweet to show him using it again, but in a constructive way, instead of destroying the City of Wizards.
Them
Aside from being the pet belonging to one of my favorite cookies, I really like Wishy Stuffington because of its funny backstory and extremely cute design and facial expression. I really wish I owned its pet costume, Midnight Prankster, because I think it's very cute and I love the pink colors, but I wasn't able to shell out $15.00 at the time. Very sad.
I think that the way the Cookie Run series draws frogs is so charming. Chubby, vaguely frog-shaped, with a :3 face. The way the frogs sing in Hydrangea Cookie's reveal video is way too cute and on occasion I go back and watch it again.
Here it is: the Cookie Run costume of all time. They peaked here. I'm so happy I pulled it close to, if not on my first pull on its banner. I am just a huge fan of pink, ribbons, hearts, belts, and lace, and this costume incorporates all of those things and puts them on one of my favorite cookies. As strange as it sounds, I actually heavily associate this costume with one of my best friend's original characters, Madoka, and I've even drawn her in this outfit.
The result of 2022's Cookie of the Year contest. Part of me wonders if Devsisters even thought Blue Lily Cookie could win at all. She pulled through close to the last minute. Which pleased me as I was voting for her. This costume is absolutely stunning in every conceivable way. The colors look amazing on her, I love that her weapon becomes a fork, and the animated glitter is beautiful. Not to memtion the way she refers to Lilybell Cookie as her crush, and how Lilybell is included in the costume's illustration.
Not everyone seemed to be fond of the Champions' League costumes, and I understand why. A handful of them felt...forced, but not Black Garlic Cookie's. I think she's able to pull off the Champions League colors, and the halo and star barette look really cute on her. The matching angel jelly set is also extremely cute.
This was the first Super Epic costume I ever pulled from the costume gacha, which is great because it's a fantastic costume. Laced ribbons are a design aspect of which I am extremely fond. I think that when designs incorporate gradients in the character's eyes and hair, it always looks very pretty, and making Onion Cookie's onion rabbit doll into a purse was a really adorable idea.
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was the first time I found out that Red Velvet Cookie was getting a costume and I am so happy his first costume turned out so cute! I've always wondered if the blue-ish purple colors they gave him are similar to Pastry Cookie's colors on purpose.
Cookie Run graphics hand-baked by me. Free to use as long as you don't claim you made them.
